the eighty-third entry

Hey y'all! Just got back from my Hawaii/Cali vacation yesterday morning, and it was awesome. We only ended up hitting the beach in Hawaii once because of the two days of tours that we signed up for, which were Pearl Harbor and a scenic North Shore, and hiking up the Diamondhead on another day. For those of you who aren't familiar, Diamondhead is an inactive volcano on Oahu (the island we stayed on). It was really tiring, but it was really fun. Besides the tours and hiking, we went shopping way too much. We went to the Ala Moana shopping center, which I guess is like the main mall in Honolulu or something, and it was ridiculous! Any high-end store that you can think of was there all in one place.. Burberry, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, etc. In addition, all the other stores that I regularly shop at were there, so it was great not having to look for those stores in other places. I was so upset about Abercrombie though, because everything there was $20 more than it is in NY or in the mainland in general, I guess because it costs a lot to ship products from the mainland to Hawaii. So needless to say I didn't bother getting anything there. I did get stuff at Lacoste, this really great store called like Animation Magic or something where I got the cutest Strawberry Shortcake travel bag (which can double for a cute bag to use at the gym) and a lot of little knick-knacks, this t-shirt place, American Eagle, and some other places I can't remember. I got everyone's souvenoirs mainly at like those little touristy stores at Aloha Tower Marketplace and International Marketplace, as well as the millions of ABC stores that crowd Hawaii.
From Hawaii we flew over to California and stayed with my aunt whom I stayed with last year. We were only there for one night because we wanted to break up the flight time from Hawaii to NY. We were in Cali right before we went to Hawaii too, but we just stayed at a hotel for that one night. Anyway, it was awesome to see everyone again, but I didn't get to see my grandmother which upset me a little. I guess it's ok since I saw her at least once a year for the past couple of years. I miss her though! Of course, my cousin was the perfect cousin yet again and was nice enough to take me around, including shopping, his gym, and driving around LA showing me the sights and whatnot. We were only there for a little less than two days, so time was very compact unfortunately. Oh, and I found my eyeglasses that I left there last year which is super so I don't have to fall asleep with my contacts in haha. All in all I had a great time in both states and looking forward to my next vacation, which may be Florida in August but I haven't decided if I'm going yet or not. That's crazy, I just thought that in just the first half of 2006, I've already been to Mexico, Texas, Hawaii, and California. That's awesome, but it'll probably never happen again.
I got to see Tom last night finally, yay! I missed him a lot since we haven't seen each other in more than a week. We went out for dinner to a Chinese place and got some Starbucks, and I gave him the stuff I got him from Hawaii.
So school is finally over and I just got my grades in. I have to admit, I did much better than I thought I did in these two classes, and I'm SO relieved. Ever since the end of finals I've been worrying about getting bad grades this semester and losing my scholarships, but I think I'm good for now *phew*!
Ang is still in Florida and I miss her a lot! She left last week while I was still in Hawaii, so I haven't seen her in way more than a week. We've been on the phone like everyday haha. Ok well not everyday, but way more than we usually do because we usually just text each other like 235098 times a day. She's coming home tomorrow night though, yay! <3
I'm making today "Domestic Day," which is when I stay home all day and take care of necessary things around the house. I already got a great head start this morning, or afternoon I should say, when I woke up. While my omelette was cooking, I washed and cut up the fruit for my cereal, the cucumbers and lettuce for my salad, and started a load of my laundry. And of course, I just finished eating the omelette I made while writing this entry! I love double-tasking, haha. =D So with that said, I'm going to start a second load of laundry and work out while it's in the dryer. I also need to clean my room, change my sheets, and formulate how I'm redoing my bedroom since now is the best time to do it all, being that I don't have school. And after that, I need to make an Excel checklist haha. I'm such a geek.
